about the service banner
It is my conviction to the view that “early identification and remediation is the key to helping dyslexics achieve” which underpins the ethos of my Dyslexia  Advisory and Support Service. Learners with dyslexia benefit from early identification and targeted effective teaching to enable them to become successful and confident individuals. My most enjoyable and rewarding experiences to date has been my work in these areas. To be involved in the identification and diagnosis of an individual’s strengths and difficulties is a privilege.  To be involved in their remedial support and to play a part in the development of their self confidence and subsequent academic success is endlessly motivating.

I returned to education as a mature student, whilst raising my three children. On completion of my first degree in Psychology I undertook an Advanced Diploma in Special Educational Needs and a Masters degree in Education.  Following a PGCE at Canterbury Christ Church University I joined East Court School, a specialist independent school for children with dyslexia and dyspraxia. Here I worked as a Specialist teacher and Manager of the Junior Department. I also undertook diagnostic assessments as part of the school’s Educational and Psychological Assessment team. During this time I completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Dyslexia and Literacy, with Dyslexia Action, and gained a Certificate of Competence in Educational Testing, validated by the British Psychological Society.
